Open Strings is a gentle, educational jam session open to all ages and levels of music lovers. This class encourages collaborative play with minimal instruction and maximum exploration.
Over the course of one hour, we will make room to discover the possibilities inherent in our instruments—and in ourselves. Together, we will challenge the idea of what it means to be “good enough” to play with others. Often, when we imagine jamming with other musicians, we believe we need to reach a certain threshold of knowledge, experience, or skill. This belief can hold us back from discovering what we actually want to learn.
By stepping out of our comfort zones and into a cozy, supportive community of fellow students, growth becomes inevitable.
Open Strings is led by Clarissa Peress, a songwriter, guitar student, educator, and soon-to-be graduate of Berklee College of Music. Participants will leave with simple exercises and realistic practice routines tailored to their individual interests.
This class is not about getting “good” at your instrument—it’s about feeling good while playing, and allowing progress to arise from a safe, grounded place.
$30 for all 3 sessions (or $13/session)
