The Artist’s Way: A 12-Week Creative Accountability Group (January 5–March 30)
Session runs January 5–March 30, 2026. Led by Sasha Patkin.
Rediscover your creative self this winter with a guided accountability group based on The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron and Mark Bryan — the beloved 12-week program for unblocking and nurturing creativity.
Part book club, part creative support circle, this group will journey through the book together, following its weekly readings, exercises, and reflections to awaken creative confidence and play. Participants will connect through a moderated group chat to share progress, insights, encouragement, and challenges, and will have opportunities for virtual co-working sessions - such as writing Morning Pages together - to keep the momentum going.
Participants are strongly encouraged to attend the four in-person sessions at the start of each four-week mark, and will also have the option of meeting every Monday night for the duration of the course either in person at the studio or through Zoom to discuss weekly progress and insights.
Whether you’re an artist, writer, or someone who simply feels the pull toward a more creative life, this group is open to all - beginners, seasoned practitioners, and those returning to The Artist’s Way alike.

Silk Pillowcases with Libby Barringer
Dream your way into the new year with a silk pillowcase (or two) made by you. Protect your skin and hair while you sleep with a cute new addition to your bedding, or create a luxurious gift for someone you love. Silk reduces friction, lessening frizz, tangles, and breakage for hair, and limits moisture loss for skin. You’ll sleep comfortably and wake up feeling pampered.
Libby Barringer will guide you through a beginner/advanced-beginner sewing project of making silk pillowcases using silks she’s collected over the years.
Practice measuring, cutting, basting, and machine-sewing straight seams—plus you’ll learn how to sew a French seam for your cuff. We will be working on shared sewing machines between staggered periods of hand-basting, cutting, and pressing.
Materials and use of all tools are included. Choose from five silk fabrics (see details below). And if you find that you need additional time to complete your pillowcases, we’ll give you a complimentary drop-in session for the fiber arts studio or weekly co-working.
Limited to 6 students.
Silk Options - Image color on screen may vary slightly from actual color
Pearl Seashell (creamy off-white) - a super soft silk jacquard, with a seashell/fan pattern
Powder Blueberry (light blue) – a soft silk jacquard, with a berry pattern
Burgundy Vines (deep red) – a soft silk jacquard, with a leafy vine pattern
Fuchsia Bubbles (pink/purple) - a striped, silk jacquard with varied size circles in a vibrant pink/purple hue.
Forest Flowers (dark teal) – silk crepe with a black silhouetted dandelion (?) pattern. This option is less slippery/smooth than the other listed options.
LIBBY BARRINGER is a maker in many materials: cloth, wood, fiber, food, and found objects. She has been sewing since she was 10 years old, taught by her mother. Professionally she has taught clothing construction and couture detail in Boston, and designed and made clothing for clients.
Cost: $40 for session + fabric for one pillow/$55 for two pillows

Cut and paste a materpiece using our collection of secondhand papers and magazines, or join us in another papercraft project for the week. We’ll provide you with optional prompts and design constraints to challenge your approach and create with curiosity, openness, and intention. Materials provided. / $15
Born and raised in the Bronx, Ada Haiman formed part of a big “returne migration” to Puerto Rico in the late 1960s. She retired from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras approximately fifteen years ago. She has recently relocated to Cambridge.
She came late to art with no formal studies. Her work is spontaneous, intuitive and meditative. She began doing it for the pleasure and focus the act of creation offered. Especially gratifying was what others saw in the finished piece, many times so different from what she saw. The finished collages achieve a seamless and harmonious combination of contrasting elements that viewers perceive as paint, not paper, adding another level of enchantment.

The Body in Poetry
Hosted by Caroline Brink
The Vision:
We are a society of thinkers. We spend so much time inside our own heads: processing our days, worrying about the future, and even thinking about the things we’re feeling. But emotions should be felt in our bodies. In order to properly understand and move through our emotions, we must process the sensations they evoke, experience the feeling not just in our mind but in our bodies.
As artists and writers, we often get blocked by our own minds. We end up censoring ourselves and overthinking the concepts we are working through. In this workshop, we will address both of these problems by combining practices of movement and art, and silencing the editorial voice.
This workshop will help participants achieve two things. First, we will teach participants how to use art as a tool to better process and experience their emotions. Second, participants will learn how to use their body to inform their writing practice and guide them beyond artistic blocks by transcending their thinking mind.
What the event will include: (overview)
Writing will flow from completely stream of consciousness towards a more polished piece
Will explore how writing can not only be used as a means of expression but also as a therapeutic method to process feelings
Alternating between movement and timed writing exercises, we will explore how we can use our bodies to inform our art
