Perpetual Calendar Collaborative Design Workshop
This workshop will provide a framework for procedural art making, and encourage skill sharing within the collaborative design process. Bring your own expertise and help us decorate Still Life Studios with a perpetual calendar.
A perpetual calendar is a catalogued delineation of time that doesn’t expire at the end of the Gregorian year. There are fourteen different configurations of the calendar year, and we are producing all fourteen of them in one site-specific installation for the studio space. Artist in Residence, Luc Grenier, is facilitating a collaborative design workshop at Still Life Studios in three weekly sessions where we will be cooperatively exploring how we ritualize and account for the passing of time. Join us for all three, or come whenever you can.

Collage a Record for World Collage Day
Collage as a way of living by Regan Golden in MARCH (a journal of art & strategy): “From an alternative perspective, collage is not merely a visual art technique, but a method of living, thinking, and navigating a fractured world. It is a way to embrace chance and combine disparate, found elements to create a new, often unexpected, meaning” (Golden, 2021). Come collage on a vinyl record in honor of World Collage Day. Join collage artists Missy Arellano & Emily Caufield for an evening full of cutting, pasting, and vinyl sounds. Sift through vintage magazines and archives of music ephemera to create your very own vinyl record art. Help us celebrate collage as a way of living! This event is open to everyone, but is geared toward 18+.

The Single Frame (Re-Offering)
The Single Frame is an experiment in attention.
In this workshop we will make just one photograph. Rather than chasing many images, we’ll slow down and work with attention, observation, and the body in space.
Through a series of simple exercises, we’ll practice ways of seeing: waiting, noticing, and making contact with the environment around us.
The goal isn’t to produce a “great” photo. It’s to experience what happens when we inhabit a moment long enough for a single frame to emerge.
Participants will make one image and reflect on the process of making it as well as leave with a different relationship to the act of photographing.
Capacity is limited to 4 participants.
Note: A mobile phone with a camera is needed for participation.
Community Collage - An Experiment in Collective Seeing
Community Collage
An experiment in collective seeing
What are we noticing these days?
This is an open invitation to community to share a small set of photos from your everyday life. Nothing staged or perfect, just what’s been catching your eye.
You might look through your existing phone camera roll, or take new photos in the coming days. You’ll choose 3–8 images that stand out to you. A short set of prompts is available as a guide, but you’re welcome to follow what feels right to you.
All submitted images will be gathered and viewed together at the event. We’ll work with them in real time - arranging, responding, and building a collective collage from what emerges, marking an accumulation of our shared attention.
Submitting images takes about 5 minutes, and all contributions are anonymous.
Participation is open to all. You are welcome to submit images for inclusion in the collective collage, or attend the in-person gathering without submitting work. Tickets are for the in-person gathering. Submitted images will be printed and materials provided.
