Knitting with Reclaimed Yarn with Avu Studio

April 27, 2025
1:30–4:00pm

Learn knitting basics to make a square cotton dishcloth. Alison of Avu Studio will show you how to cast on, knit, purl, yarn over, knit two together, and bind off. These essential techniques are a great start as the basis for many other knitting projects. She’ll also talk about her process of unraveling damaged knits to reuse in new pieces.

What we’ll provide: Reclaimed and secondhand-found cotton yarn, knitting needles, and instruction.

What to bring (optional): If you have size US 7 knitting needles you’d like to use to get accustomed to, or worsted weight cotton yarn in specific colors you’d like to use, please feel free to bring them!

Optional upgrades: Depending on availability, you’ll be able to purchase additional skeins of yarn for future projects.

This class is limited to six students.
